Pebble turning heads at CES: TNW reports Pebble will launch an app store by the end of January. Developers should submit their apps by Jan. 9. We also got a peek at the new luxury model, Pebble Steel smart watch for $249 shipping Jan. 28 in brushed stainless or Black Matte.
Intel unveils RealSense: Engadget reports Intel’s making a big deal about RealSense at CES. The first product with the name is a 3D camera that Intekl promises helps devices see depth much like the human eye, and can even read emotions in faces. The RealSense 3D camera will come to tablets, Ultrabooks, notebooks and all-in-ones, from the likes of Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo and NEC in the second half of this year.
Has AT&T sparked a net neutrality war? Ars Technica reports the US carrier confirmed a plan to allow content providers to pay in order to exempt their content from a user’s data cap. As an example, Netflix could pay AT&T and any Netflix video watched on an AT&T phone wouldn’t count against the users cap. To find out more users or businesses can go to att.com/sponsoreddata. The Verge reports on Vizio’s first consumer grade 4K TV. Called the P Series, models will be will be available between 50 and 70 inches and priced “aggressively”. (Submitted by Webitube)
Engadget explores Corning’s anti-microbial Gorilla Glass that inhibits algae, mold, mildew and fungi as well as bacteria. The glass uses an ionic silver coating for the germ-killing, but claims it’s intrinsic to the surface meaning it will last for the lifetime of the device. (Submitted by tsluss07).

The built-in audio player is perfect. Works great. I actually think have only two individuals (Tom as host, and one guest host) is idea. This allows Tom to better control the flow of conversation and tighten up the show length as needed quite a bit. Having heard Mike on the “other” network, I now fully appreciate how difficult it is to keep the energy level up while you are the host of the show, something that Tom is truly excellent in doing. The huge differences in on-camera presence between Mike and Tom is dramatic.
One minor glitch.
When the audio is playing, the time “stamp” in the audio plug-in player disappears, so it is not possible to see how far you are along currently in the podcast. Instead, only the title of the show / file name is shown.
Tom, can you fix that?
It’s Archive.org’s embedded player, but even so, I don’t have that issue. Maybe it’s the browser window size scrunching it?

Tom, this was an excellent episode! I never thought I would enjoy CES coverage as much as I did this episode. 🙂 The yes/no idea was brilliant. I really appreciate how you discuss the stories with your guest and don’t just read the news. The Roku/TV discussion in particular brought up some interesting insights that I haven’t seen in other reporting.

Random comment – the mp3’s being fussy about downloading via the iTunes subscribe (this morning anyway) – I’m happy to watch it online, just wanted to pass that on.
Any idea how I can watch or subscribe to your new show on my older Roku 2 equipped TV that doesn’t have a Youtube channel? I’ve been watching on DTNS and Cordcutters on my phone or tablet but it’s not as convenient as that “other” network’s Roku app to watch your shows on the “big” screen.

I know that one bad apple spoils the whole bunch, but why be against all germs?
