Google has officially rolled out Android 17 and Wear OS 7, continuing its strategy of using Android and Pixel devices as a showcase for new AI features. The update adds Gemini-powered video editing, AI music generation through Lyria 3, enhanced translation tools, and a new multitasking interface called the Bubble Bar. Pixel Watch users are also getting expanded emergency detection features and battery life improvements of up to 10%.

India’s Telegram Crackdown
Indian authorities have ordered a temporary block on Telegram through June 22, arguing that fraudsters have been using the platform to distribute fake exam materials and misinformation ahead of a major medical entrance exam retest. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov called the move ineffective and disproportionate, saying it affects more than 150 million users while bad actors can simply migrate elsewhere.

Uber’s Robotaxi Plan Heads to Houston
Uber says Houston will become the second U.S. market for its partnership with Lucid and Nuro, with a driverless ride service targeted for mid-2027. Apple’s AI Wearables Take Shape
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing a significant lineup of 2027 hardware that could include camera-equipped AirPods, a second-generation foldable iPhone, and a special anniversary iPhone celebrating 20 years of the product. The AirPods are reportedly being designed as Apple’s first AI-centric wearable, using onboard cameras to provide Siri with visual context about a user’s surroundings, while Apple’s long-rumored smart glasses remain on track for a possible debut late next year.
