OpenClaw gets easier to wrangle
OpenClaw 2.0 is the open-source AI agent platform’s biggest release yet, with a rebuilt browser app, shared cloud sessions, and setup that can detect ChatGPT, Claude, API keys, or local models. The goal is pretty clear: make agent workflows less painful to actually use.

Saudi Arabia gets a national AI software bundle
More than 27 million eligible Saudi citizens and residents will get a year of free Adobe Firefly Standard and Adobe Express Premium features. The $4 billion-plus deal also includes an image model tuned for Saudi culture and Arabic-language prompts, which makes this feel more like AI infrastructure than a software promotion.

Instagram draws a line around fake AI people
Instagram says AI-generated influencer accounts need to clearly label themselves or risk being demoted in recommendations. This is aimed at accounts pretending to be human, not every creator using AI tools, so Meta is targeting the weirdest end of AI slop while still leaving plenty of room for AI content.

Nvidia buys deeper into the device stack
Nvidia is putting $3.5 billion into MediaTek as the companies team up on AI infrastructure and AI-powered vehicle platforms. MediaTek already has reach across phones, cars, and connected devices, so this gives Nvidia another path to push its chips and software deeper into everyday hardware.

The AI risk warning moves to finance
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey warned G20 finance officials that advanced AI models could become a real financial stability problem. The concern is less sci-fi and more practical: faster, more autonomous cyberattacks against financial systems where one major outage can ripple quickly.

Arkansas gets pulled into the battery race
LG Energy Solution signed a 10-year lithium carbonate supply deal with Smackover Lithium’s South West Arkansas project. The agreement covers 8,000 metric tonnes a year once production starts, giving LG a US-based battery material source for energy storage systems and electric vehicles.

Apple Maps sits out the lake rename
Apple Maps is still calling Lake Ontario by its existing name, even after Google Maps changed it to Lake America for US users following a US presidential executive order. Google says it follows the US Geographic Names Information System, while Apple has not made the same change so far.
