India Introduces Fee on Larger UPI Payments

Spotify Lets Users Exclude Kids’ Music From Recommendations
Spotify is introducing a new toggle option that allows users to exclude kids and family music, such as nursery rhymes, show theme songs, and animated movie soundtracks, from impacting their personalized music recommendations and Spotify Wrapped recaps. Available to both Free and Premium users, the feature works retroactively and builds on Spotify’s existing options for managing taste profiles and family accounts.

Apple Bundles Apple TV and Arcade With iCloud+ in Select Markets
Apple has launched an initiative bundling Apple TV and Apple Arcade into iCloud+ subscriptions at no extra charge across more than 100 developing markets and small territories, while expanding Apple TV availability to 59 new countries for a total reach of 170. Positioned as a strategy to drive services growth in price-sensitive regions where high-priced Apple One bundles had limited appeal, the expanded iCloud+ offering also introduces an “Apple Music Select” tier with ad-free radio stations in select markets, providing eligible users with discounted upgrades to full Apple Music plans.

Intel-Backed Chipmaker Altera Files Confidentially for IPO

AIUC Raises $40 Million to Certify Enterprise AI Agents
Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC), established by former METR and Anthropic executives Rajiv Dattani and Rune Kvist, secured $40 million in Series A funding to build a third-party certification and audit framework for enterprise AI agents. Functioning much like SOC 2 cybersecurity standards, the organization assesses agents for hazards like data leaks, hallucinations, and jailbreaks prior to deployment, leveraging its AIUC-1 standard alongside 5,000 automated tests verified by human auditors.

Meta Expands Its Custom AI Chip Roadmap
Meta Platforms Inc. is accelerating its custom silicon roadmap by deploying homegrown AI inference chips, including the third-generation MTIA 450 (Arke) and the upcoming Astrid model, to cut reliance on Nvidia. Using high-bandwidth memory for general inference, these processors improve data center energy and cost efficiency. To focus resources and reduce gigawatt-scale infrastructure costs, Meta canceled its dual-purpose Olympus project to commit entirely to specialized inference hardware and future optical interconnects.

Waymo Expands Robotaxi Service to Las Vegas
Waymo has expanded its robotaxi service to Nevada, starting with a 24-mile service area in Las Vegas using its sixth-generation all-electric minivans, with plans to cover more of Clark County over time. The launch follows approval from the Nevada Transportation Authority and joins existing driverless options like Zoox, while building on Waymo’s recent expansion into cities such as Denver, San Diego, Tampa, and Munich.
