AI Hacking Eats Its Own Tail?
Researchers at Hacktron AI used Anthropic’s Claude to find and exploit a bug in OpenAI’s staff forum, gaining access to employee ChatGPT accounts and a GitHub repository before reporting it through OpenAI’s bug bounty program. OpenAI fixed the issue, but the whole thing is a tidy example of how quickly AI tools are changing offensive security work.

The AI Copyright Case Gets Messier
Unsealed court filings show some Microsoft and OpenAI insiders had sharp warnings about training AI on publisher content. One Microsoft researcher called AI scraping an “astonishing theft,” while OpenAI’s Nick Turley warned publishers could face an existential threat from chatbot products trained on news.

Europe’s Robotaxi Bet Gets Bigger
Lucid and Bolt are working on a plan to bring at least 25,000 autonomous Lucid vehicles to major European cities, with Bolt owning and operating the fleet. It’s still only a memorandum of understanding, but if it holds, the first vehicles could arrive as early as 2028.

Meta Loses A Fake-Ad Fight In Germany
A German court ruled Meta can be held liable for fake investment ads on Facebook and Instagram, after a financial portal and its founder said their names and images were used in fraudulent posts. The ruling pushes back on Meta’s argument that it lacked knowledge of the ads, pointing instead to how its ad systems and algorithms shape what users see.

Tokenized Stocks Get A Regulatory Opening
The US Securities and Exchange Commission is creating a five-year exemption for trading tokenized stocks. Platforms will get some relief from exchange rules, but the tokens have to represent real shareholder rights, and companies must be notified before tokenized versions of their stocks are listed.

OpenAI launched Astra for Law, a legal-research configuration of GPT-6 Astra aimed at law firms and legal software companies. It’s not a new model, but it adds a legal search index covering US case law, statutes, regulations, court rules, and administrative decisions.

Costco Delivery Gets More App Choices
Costco is expanding delivery beyond its long Instacart relationship, giving DoorDash and Uber Eats a bigger role in getting warehouse orders to members. DoorDash can now deliver from US Costco locations for linked member accounts, while Uber Eats expanded Costco delivery to 47 states.

The Information’s sources say OpenAI employees expect the company to soon crack the Hodge Conjecture, one of the Millennium Prize Problems. That would land right in the middle of OpenAI’s current fight with mathematicians over verification, credit, and whether AI labs are moving faster than the math community can responsibly check.

OpenAI Doesn’t Get Apple’s Musk Deal
A federal judge denied OpenAI’s request to see Apple’s confidential agreement with Elon Musk’s X Corp and SpaceXAI. The Musk companies dropped their antitrust claims against Apple but kept claims against OpenAI alive, and the judge said the Apple settlement isn’t relevant to the remaining issues.
