Siri redesign leaks show Dynamic Island launch and “Liquid Glass” interface ahead of WWDC
Ahead of WWDC starting June 8, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is preparing a redesigned Siri experience that launches from the Dynamic Island instead of taking over the full screen. The interface is expected to use a darker “Liquid Glass” style and expand the Dynamic Island into a more expressive AI interaction layer. Siri is also expected to gain deeper integration with the Camera app, replacing the current Visual Intelligence interface and enabling Apple Intelligence-powered edits like expanding images or making adjustments through natural language prompts. A more conversational Siri with chat history and expanded Shortcuts creation is also in development.

Meta rolls out subscription tiers across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp
Meta has launched paid subscriptions globally for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, priced between $2.99 and $3.99 per month for features like profile customization, premium reactions, and audience insights. It is also testing higher-tier “Meta One” plans for creators, businesses, and Meta AI users, with AI-focused tiers priced at $7.99 and $19.99 per month offering more compute and expanded image and video generation. Creator and business plans can reach $49.99 per month and include verification, analytics, and traffic tools.

EU fines Temu €200 million under Digital Services Act
The European Commission fined Temu €200 million, saying European shoppers face a high risk of illegal products on the platform. Regulators said Temu’s 2024 risk assessment understated the issue and contributed to weak enforcement measures. Temu has called the penalty disproportionate and says it has since improved compliance systems, with a deadline in August to submit a remediation plan or face further penalties.

Oura unveils Ring 5 with lighter design and expanded AI health features
Oura announced the Oura Ring 5, a slimmer and lighter wearable starting at $399 and shipping June 4. It includes upgraded sensors, longer battery life of up to nine days, and a portable charging case. The company is also expanding its AI health stack with an Advisor assistant, adding features like blood pressure monitoring, nighttime breathing alerts, lab result uploads, and GLP-1 medication tracking, alongside tighter privacy controls.

Google engineer charged over alleged insider betting scheme
Federal prosecutors allege Google security engineer Michele Spagnuolo used internal search trend data to make more than $1 million on Polymarket before information became public. He is accused of using confidential data to place bets, including correctly predicting Google’s most-searched person of 2025, and hiding proceeds through an account called AlphaRaccoon. He has been arrested, released on bond, and placed on leave by Google.

Valve raises Steam Deck OLED prices as component costs surge
Valve has increased prices for its Steam Deck OLED models due to rising memory and storage costs tied to ongoing component shortages. The 512 GB model now costs $789, up from $549, while the 1 TB version has risen to $949. Dell secures $9.7 billion Pentagon software and cloud deal
Dell has won a five-year, $9.7 billion contract with the US Department of Defense to provide Microsoft software and cloud services across the military, intelligence community, and Coast Guard. Officials say consolidating licensing under one agreement is expected to save about $422 million annually.
