“Now I want fried Chickenman”?!!
I mean, he’s everywhere*, which is convenient, I will admit, but what did he ever do to you?
I used to LOVE Chicken Man! We got it in St. Louis to. I think on KXOK?
Armed Forces Radio for me. At that point, Armed Forces Television didn’t come on until about 3pm and they never had cartoons on Saturdays (I was so deprived 😎 ), so Chickenman was just about all that was left.
Armed Forces TV didn’t have commercials, but it did have PSAs. At least then, the PSAs were all about drunk driving, information security: “Someone is watching”, or black marketeering. For a few days* after returning to the US, commercials were actually kind of enjoyable.
* A very few days.
