One can’t have meaningful dialog when one is prohibited from offense because, lets face it, taking offense is a method of shutting down dialog. It’s sophistry in its purist form. And it’s a matter of choice, not of power over another. I can no more force a person to be angry or hurt than force them see the logic in an argument.
