  1. I don’t think making a copy of the data is going to make it any easier to decrypt it. The way I understand it, after 10 unsuccessful attempts to unlock the phone, the symmetric encryption key, which is stored in secure hardware on the phone, is deleted. The data is still there, but now instead of brute forcing the 4 or 6 digit PIN that is used to access the much longer key, you would need to brute force the key itself.
