Hearing the report of the BMW that was locked remotely in collaboration with the police in one jurisdiction reminded me of a longstanding program in Vancouver BC. http://www.baitcar.com/ They have bait cars parked in high risk areas for theft that can be locked and have their engines killed remotely to entrap car thieves. The police actually speak with the thief in the car and instruct them to pull over as they stole the car and that the engine will be killed. They have modified all the most popular cars among thieves. Although the BMW story might be the first popularized use of this on a real person’s car…Vancouver has been doing this with bait cars for more than 5 years.
Hi
I can’t find the mp4 anywhere, and find video only on YT. Is that the new normal, or just a day of it?
tks
Apologies. I think something fell through in covering for Roger. On it!
Thanks ! – after getting youtube to behave, and watching the video, I had an idea it was Roger’s absence had something to do with it 🙂
